On arrival at Ljubljana or Trieste (if travel by plane or train), make your way to Koper. Our private driver will welcome you at our convenient meeting point and transfer you to a charming hotel in Vrsar. If necessary we'll be happy to arrange an optional private transfer for you from the airport/train station to the meeting point in Koper.

A wine story in which the best wines of Istria - terra magica - will be introduced, begins in Vrsar, a perfect destination for those seeking a thoroughly relaxing holiday far from the mass tourism. In a memorable environment with the unforgettable view over the sea you can drift away into a relaxing holiday. The wine tour plan will be presented while you sip the welcome drink.

Later in the afternon we head out to Lim bay - an impressive and protected fjord in which there are fish and shells farms. From the highest point you can enjoy a splendid view of the entire coastline. You will also enjoy a special visit to the well known Matosevic winery, where a typical Istrian dinner will be served accompanied by wine tasting of the excellent wines. During the three-course dinner you'll learn about the Istrian region combined with a short wine story.

This morning you and your fellow travellers will be picked up by your guide. Our drive takes us down to the ancient Roman town - Porec (Parenzo in Italian; Parentium in Roman times). A town located in the heart of the western coast of Istria. A town of culture, tourism and leisure, where the aromas and colours of past times form a mosaic of unforgettable experiences.

Start the day with a cup of coffee in one of fashionable bars in the Porec harbour, then take a stroll along Porec streets and get swept away by ancient times. Absolute must is a visit to the Basilica of St. Euphrasius which is under the UNESCO's protection. The Basilica is unique because it has preserved the elements of its interior and exterior and remained unchanged for 17 centuries already. Continuing on, we'll have a look at the gothic style pentagonal tower with a relief of a venetian lion on its front, situated at the beginning of the main street, Decumanus, and since you are already here, we'll go on to the Marafor, the biggest and the oldest square of Porec, in the shape of a rectangular roman forum.

After sightseeing, lunch at KONOBA - one of the traditional Istrian restaurants, paired with excellent local wine. Later, enjoy some free time to relax until departure. We recommend to spend some time on the beautiful beaches of Porec.

In the afternoon we'll take off towards South - to visit one of the region's most famous wine estates. Winemaker himself will introduce us to the world of the noble liquid with interesting stories, accompanied by wine tastings and food specialiteis. The beautiful view of vineyards and nature will definitely complement the experience of wine tasting and round up the entire story through which you will learn about Istria and its wines.

Late afternoon return to hotel in Vrsar.

Our day together, after the breakfast, begins at 9 o'clock a.m., with a trip to the south-western Istria where we'll visit a well known and very esteemed Istrian winemaker.

After the wine tasting and cellar visit, we’ll continue to Rovinj, considered by many the most romantic city of the entire Adriatic coastline. The town will conquer you with its picturesque streets and a unique atmosphere, and you will be embraced by traces of ancient Illyricum, Roman and Venetian times when the harbour of Rovinj was one of the busiest harbours of the Adriatic and Rovinj was a fishing superpower.

Your guide will take you through Rovinj and won't let you miss any sound detail. A gentle climb to the St Eufemija church, built upon the example of St Mark of Venice church; visit the 7 doors of the city that once represented the only entrances into the city at the distant times when Rovinj was divided from the mainland by the sea. Peak into numerous antique shops and authentic inns along the quay, and if you are a nature lover do not miss the park woods Zlatni rt (Golden Cape).

Enjoy a short break before we hit the road to a small istrian village. The area is characterised by particular micro-climatic conditions suitable for olive growing. The charm of the olive oil will be presented in a renowned local olive grove where, one of the best Istrian olive oils is produced and where you'll be introduced to the organoleptic properties of the olive oil.

As the day passes by, we'll proceed to a typical Istrian konoba with a view spanning across the sea where you'll have the opportunity to indulge in specialities of the region, choosing between fish or meat dishes.

Spend another night in Vrsar.

Wake up slowly. This morning after the breakfast, in order to expand your oeno gastronomic horizons, you'll start a day with the visit to the Trapan Winery at the very south of Istria. The organically cultivated vineyards extend on the red Istrian soil. The owners convey their knowledge and experience to the wine-making technique, crafting fine and elegant wines with a recognisable, exceptional character and distinguishing Mediterranean notes.

After the Trapan Winery tour and wine tasting, we'll be heading for lunch with the southern Istrian specialities.

Soon after "refueling" ourselves at the konoba, we'll be directed to the biggest Istrian town – Pula, where you'll enjoy a guided tour of the Roman landmarks dating back to the period of Augustus. Of course, you will not miss to visit the Arena, one of the most beautiful roman amphitheaters of the world, then the temple of Saint Augustus,as well as the underground tunnels from the Austro-Ungaric Empire when Pula was an important commercial and military centre.

Our wine story has come to the end. It’s time to go back home. You will be transfered to the initial meeting point in Koper where it all started. From there you can catch a flight/train home or continue your travels.
